Women’s Holistic Health Symposium, on “Beautiful Earth”

April 10, 2019 | Posted in Beautiful Earth with Barbra White, Featured Guest

Airs 4/29/2019

Join host Barbra White with Dr. Vickie Modica, Jessica Preston and Liza Baker as they take on the subject, Woman’s Holistic Health. Read more about Barbra’s guests below:
Dr. Vickie Modica has had a lifelong interest in medicine. Being disillusioned with traditional medicine, her path took her from coast to coast, from Boston to San Diego, San Francisco, and Seattle, where she finally discovered naturopathic medicine at an urban food fair at Bastyr University. She was overtaken by the herbal and medicinal gardens, discovered the medical school program, and with drive and determination, jumped with both feet into the naturopathic pool of medicine. Her focus is on preventing and reversing chronic illness, and helping patients get off of their medications and on a plan for thriving in their future health. (206) 384-9039
Jessica Preston is a certified physician assistant who has been in practice for 18 years. She has a deep background in research and the biochemical workings of the body. She extends this experience to her clinical practice in functional medicine, helping women from adolescence through menopause; but her true passion is helping women optimize their bodies for pregnancy and helping women conceive naturally. +1 (313) 407-9374
Liza Baker is a health coach and sanity whisperer for working wives and mothers 40+ who dream of a starring role in their own lives after too many years of being the best supporting actress in everyone else’s. Liza received her health coach training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition® and an AAS in Culinary Arts from the Cooking & Hospitality Institute of Chicago. In the years BC (before children), she was the owner and executive chef of a catering and private chef company in Chicago, and has taught cooking and nutrition to all ages. Liza lives with her husband in a half-empty nest in Ann Arbor, MI and is passionate about health and happiness, education and energetics, SOLE/ SOUL food and social justice. 310-892-9485

We Get Results with Mary Singer Albertson and Guest Ken Patterson

December 25, 2018 | Posted in We Get Results

AIRTIME: 11/25/2018 – 1 pm

SHOW: Mary Singer Albertson Knows how to get Results and the People who make things happen. Her slogan is “Be an advocate for people who have no voice”. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for… “Be the change you want to see in the world.

THIS EPISODE: Mary interviews Ken Patterson Director of Global Grassroots Advocacy at RESULTS, the power to end poverty.

Ken Patterson (RESULTS) and I discuss what we can do now that the election is over. We aren’t finished after we vote.  We elected them and we need to tell them what we want them to do. A member of Congress said, “You elect us and then you abandon us. You don’t tell us what you want.”

RESULTS is a movement of passionate, committed everyday people. Together they use their voices to influence political decisions that will bring an end to poverty. Volunteers receive training, support, and inspiration to become skilled advocates. In time, volunteers learn to effectively advise policymakers, guiding them towards decisions that improve access to education, health, and economic opportunity. With every hour of their time, volunteers multiply their impact through the enormous power of advocacy — whether it’s helping change policy to support millions of families putting food on the table or helping raise billions of dollars for the world’s most vulnerable children.
